So, if you're anything like me, you've been feeling a little overwhelmed with everything at home. The laundry, and dishes, and clutter everywhere.....and now everyone is home, all the time. We're a family of 5 + a dog. There are a lot of dishes to wash these days. Not as much laundry, which I'm thankful for, but I think that means we're not wearing/changing clothes as much! Oh well! You'd also think that being home all the time with nowhere to go and nothing to do, my house would be super clean and organized. HA! Nope! It's not.
But today was a good day. Mom busted out the chore chart!
I decided these kids need to do some chores and I need them to help me. They did, and I really appreciated it. Now if we could just keep doing it on a consistent basis. I'm good for a few days or so, then we all start slacking. I need some kind of accountability to keep us going. I have a magnetic chore chart that I bought a while ago, but haven't been using lately. It's ready to be filled out! I'm not going to set crazy rules, just that all the chores need to get done. And after a week is done, we'll talk about an allowance.
Now if I could get us back on some sort of schedule, time wise. Right now, we all stay up too late. And then some of us sleep in too late and the others just don't get enough sleep (me usually). Maybe that's something to think about and make a plan.
Until next time! Take care!

A natural, non-toxic home sounds pretty good, right? Maybe you've been thinking about it for while?
Who has time to DIY a bunch of stuff and who has the money to purchase the expensive stuff that's supposed to be better for you?
Not me. And probably not you either.
Here's a secret for you: it doesn't have to happen all at once.
You don't have to get stressed about switching out everything today. Do it slowly, over time, and focus on one thing at a time, as you need to replace it. You've been living with chemicals for years, another few months while making the switch, will be worth it in the end.
When I signed up to become a member with Young Living 3 years ago (2017), my starter kit came with a 1 oz package of Thieves Household Cleaner. I set it aside......for a while. I had also ordered a bundle of cleaning supplies from Grove, and when they arrived, it also came with a glass spray bottle. I immediately thought, I should use that Thieves stuff in my new glass bottle! I had been meaning to get one, but kept forgetting. So, I got the little package out and poured the 1 oz of liquid cleaner into my glass bottle, and thought, "wow, that's all I need?". I filled the rest up with water, and done! I cleaned my kitchen counters first, and I was so impressed with the smell! It reminded me of Christmas! This one cleaning product has now replaced almost every cleaning product under my kitchen sink! So easy!
In case you need more proof that a healthy home environment is necessary, take a look at the typical ingredients that commonly come into our homes through cleaners, air fresheners, beauty and body care products and even on furniture.
- Parabens - disrupt the endocrine system and may increase cancer risk
- Phthalates - disrupt the endocrine system and affect reproduction
- Triclosan - linked to skin sensitivity, liver damage and hormone disruption
- Chlorine - aggravates asthma, destroys gut bacteria, can disrupt thyroid function, linked to colon/bladder cancer
- Perchloroethylene (PERC) - commonly found in dry-cleaning solutions, spot removers, and carpet and upholstery cleaners, it is a neurotoxin and possible carcinogen
- Chloroform - found in dryer sheets, it's a neurotoxin and carcinogen
- 2-butoxyethanol - irritates the skin and eyes
- Benzyl acetate - linked to pancreatic cancer
- Fragrance - triggers allergies and asthma, linked to hormone disruption
- Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) - can cause severe skin irritation
- Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) - may damage liver and kidneys, disrupt hormones and promote tumor growth
- Ammonia - commonly found in glass cleaner, causes eye, skin, and lung irritation and worsens asthma
- Formaldehyde - aggravates allergies, irritates the skin and burns eyes, nose, and throat, a carcinogen
- DEA (diethanolamine), TEA (triethanolamine) and MEA (monoethanolamine) - can cause allergic reactions, linked to liver and kidney cancer
Yikes, right? Ready to start making the switch?

Well, hello there!
I've started writing (typing) this a few different times......erased it, and started over again.
How do you write your first blog post?
What do you write about?
I'll just introduce myself for now and see where it takes me!
So, hello! I'm Sharon.
I'm married (19 years in October!) and we have 3 kids and a dog.
I'm originally from TN, but have lived in Texas since 2003. We were living just outside of San Antonio, TX until about 5 years ago when we moved to San Angelo, TX for my husband's job.
If you happen to live in or near San Angelo, and need a cake for a special occasion, guess what? I'm also a home baker. I make custom cakes, cupcakes, and wedding cakes.
You can see my business page here: Lady Cupcake
And about 3 years ago, I was introduced to a line of products that were non-toxic, chemical free, and safe for my family. I fell in love with these products and began to "ditch & switch" as many things in my house that I could. And now I'm ready to share what I've learned with anyone that needs my help.
I'll share a little of my "ditch & switch" process with you in my next blog post! Super excited to share this with you!
Until next time!
